Why Blogging Is So Powerful.....
Anyone and everyone can take to the world wide web to share their story, their experiences and their opinions. As Christians, we are mandated to, literally, proclaim good news - how can we possibly neglect the phenomenal opportunity to 'go into all the world' via the web? We are commanded to follow in Jesus' footsteps by loving the world and telling them that there is hope, there is redemption and there is a better way to live.
Some researchers estimate that of the 150 million+ blogs published on the Internet, less than 40% are written by women - and the statistics get even more challenging when we look at the gender split of the most-read blogs - with not one single woman featuring in the Top 10 Most Inspirational Blogs in the world, according to Lifehack.com Even when you look at the Top 100 Christian Blogs, only 11 of them are written by women!
There are a number of theories on why there is such an imbalance but She31 decided to try and do something about it and help raise the profile of wonderful faithful bloggers through this Showcase. As you will see from our Bloggers Showcase below, there are an amazing variety of blogs out there, written by all kinds of women from all kinds of backgrounds.
One of our Showcase bloggers, Kayla Nickles from virtuousmama.org says of her blogging journey "God revealed to me that my spiritual gift is exhortation, encouraging and helping others. Since that reveal, I've been reaching out to help others through my Blog.. I'm striving to be all that God has made me to be and I express that through my blog." We can find such a powerful release into our spiritual gifting when we reach out to others this way.
Another one of our Showcase bloggers, Tiffany Melvin from smalllifeliving.com says "I love to blog because I want to inspire people to have a life they love and share my passions with others". Like many others, Tiffany's blog is inspiring people to prayerfully consider how they live their lives and make the changes needed to be all that God has called them to be.
"I write because I have a passion for helping couples strengthen their marriage" says Madison Weaver of her blog, mrsmadisonweaver.com, she continues, ".. I firmly believe that God has to be the center of our lives and marriages."
Justine Neilsen of my-heartssong.com reflects on how she felt when she started blogging; "I felt a little funny at first, and wondered if I was 'good enough' to do this and God reminded me that I've been writing and preparing long before I decided to start a blog.. it's about sharing His love".
So, whether a Blog is a tool for your ministry, your business or simply connecting and sharing your hearts with others, we are all so varied in our passions and our views - it's a beautiful picture of God's kingdom-mosaic when we stand together - publishing words of life and encouragement.
If you have been thinking about starting a blog, I can highly recommend the Blogging 101 Facebook group hosted by the wonderfully helpful Nicole Floss. Taking this journey together is even more exciting!
Be encouraged, be inspired and spread the love by Sharing and Pinning from these blogs.. and don't forget to email us if you would like your own blog to feature!
